Motorola Q Phone and Other Various Toys

April 26, 2007 01:35 by jwendl

I just cancelled my service with Sprint recently and switched over to Verizon. This is sort of a big change for me as I have been a Sprint customer for almost 8 years now. The major draw, a new phone of course.

8097

I am now the proud owner of a Motorola Q phone. So far I have only installed Pocket PuTTy and Nethack on it.

I have also written an application that takes contacts from vCard format (provided by PHP iAddressbook) and inserts them into Microsoft Outlook 2003. Then it takes the iCal file format provided by Mozilla Sunbird and PHP iCalendar and inserts that into Outlook.

Then after running my custom application, all I have to do is plug the phone in and in about 5 - 10 minutes of sync'ing I have everything on my phone. This is a huge draw for me as I have way too many contacts and way too many events going on to remember anymore.

If you are interested portions of the source code are provided at :

Please note that I did not include the vCard or iCal classes as there are links to both of them included inside the frmMain.cs file (as I didn't write them).
